A slightly belated Happy New Year on our Grassroots blog... (editors New Year's Resolution - to blog more frequently)!

Hoping you all had a wonderful break over the festive period. The last few weeks at nursery in the lead up to Christmas were extremely busy and it was a much welcomed break for our staff (as Christmas is our only closure week). However, we enjoyed some lovely craft activities, a visit from Santa himself and an unforgetable nativity play, which took place on stage in the barn next to our donkeys! Pictures to be added to the website gallery...

We are now looking forward to planning even more exciting things for our Grassroots children, and require two more staff to help us do this!

We are seeking a Level 3 Nursery Nurse for our Baby Room (40 hour week over four days, Competitive Salary) - Role commencing March 2016 and also a Nursery Nurse for Summer/Bank work - Role commencing June/July 2016 - September 2016

Please visit our recruitment page http://www.grassrootshargrave.com/recruitment if you are interested or know anyone who may be inetrested - recommendations are always best :)

Parents and relatives of children are welcome to join us at 10am on Tuesday 28th July for our first Sports Day.

This small event is set to be lots of fun rather than hugely competitive and a lovely opportunity for the children of Grassroots to bring extended family to their nursery. Fingers crossed for good weather! Light refreshments will be available and the event will finish in time for the children's lunch at 12.

We look forward to seeing you :)

Parents and relatives of children joined Grassroots on a fabulous toddle through the fields on Monday 20th July to raise funds for the children's charity Barnados.

As well as enjoying a beautiful walk together at Mill View Farm, the children loved showing their families the donkeys, chickens, ducks and pigs at the farm, which they visit every day.

A huge thank you goes to parents and relatives for generously donating to this worthy cause. We will post the total amount raised in due course :)

Children will be welcomed by the colours of spring when they come to nursery on Monday, as we have planted up some of our wellie boots!

Thank you to those who donated a pair or two - you know who you are :) Much appreciated.

If anyone else has any old wellington's they no longer need... big or small, holey or whole - all welcome!

It was a great day for our biggest tractor fan at nursery on Friday, as we caught up with one of the John Deere's on our farm walk.

We were just admiring our latest arrival on the farm (a new calf born last weekend) when the tractor returned from the field. With it safely parked up and a quick risk assessment completed, six excited children were able to sit in (and pretend to drive) the tractor - the chatter and smiles were something to behold! Whilst at the steering wheel children of just two years were quickly shouting "move tractor" and "beep beep" - whilst the ever impatient queue at the steps shouted back "its my tractor" and "my turn"!

As each child was carefully lowered down the steps, they rejoined the queue for another go and promises had to be made that we could do it again another day! :)

Our biggest tractor fan proudly took his picture home... here he is:
