As the dry, good weather continues, as does the steady progress of building and harvest at Mill View Farm.

At first light this morning, Grassroots nursery looked much the same from the outside as it has done for the past two weeks, but within a matter of hours, roof tiles have been laid and the building has taken on a much more complete appearance. To the front of the building the parking area has been cleared and foundations have been dug for the extension, which will really alter the character of the setting when it is topped with its natural sedum roof. This new addition will house a welcoming entrance and fully equipped kitchen.

It must be said that considerable change has also taken place inside where there are now defined spaces for the different age groups, together with a managers office, toilet block and doorways to create the free-flow play areas into the garden. Work on the plumbing and electrics has also begun. Well done Meadsway!

Meanwhile work on the farm itself is in full swing as the weather allows the combines to keep rolling - and a steady flow of grain being bought back to base. As much as the garden would like it - I dare not do a rain dance yet - let the sun shine on and the progress continue! Happy days!
