The Role

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can bring unique skills and innovation to our farm-based nursery. Whilst advertising for a permanent member of staff to join our team, we are also seeking someone willing to cover maternity leave in 2018 (40 hours per week with the opportunity to stay on permanently if desired).

You will need to demonstrate your commitment to children, treating every child as an individual and ensure their personal development needs are being met, in line with the EYFS. You will do this by ensuring your key children’s development records are up to date and fully reflect their individual progress.

 

The duties of a Nursery Nurse will include:

- Assisting the Nursery team in providing high quality childcare.

- Providing inspiration to nursery children through exciting activities in all areas of learning whilst incorporating EYFS.

- Maintaining a safe, secure and caring environment.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work deadlines

- Excellent communication skills with professional conducts


The Candidate

The key attributes of a Nursery Nurse include:

- Being qualified at NVQ level 3 or equivalent in childcare.

- Paediatric First Aid

- SEN qualification an advantage but not necessary

- 2 yrs experience working with babies desirable but not necessary

Bank Staff

Grassroots are always on the look out for reliable, caring and experienced bank staff. Although an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in childcare is not essential as you would be working within our fully qualified team, the right candidate should be a creative and innovative thinker with a genuine interest in providing quality care for children aged 0-5yrs. 

Ideally candidates would be willing to work a full 10 hour day (8am - 6pm) to cover annual/sick leave of permanent staff although half days can be accomodated if necessary. As maintaining ratios is imperative at all times within nursery, we aim to work with bank staff to plan 'bank days' well in advance, however there may also be times we would contact you to see if you were available for emergency cover at short notice.
